JACARDI is the Joint Action of the European Union that supports European countries in reducing the burden of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, at both individual and health system levels. 

143 evidence-based pilot projects in 18 EU countries, with supporting evidence of improved cardiovascular diseases and diabetes prevention and management.

The first EU Screening Week will put prevention and early detection in the spotlight from 28 September to 4 October, closely reflecting JACARDI’s work on effective screening and follow-up.

No one can build this bridge alone: JACARDI strengthens the science–policy interface

Generating robust evidence is essential, but evidence alone does not lead to lasting public health impact. Through science-to-policy training across 18 European countries, JACARDI is helping experts translate project results into policy and practice. A two-day training in Italy shows how pilot teams are making their findings clear, relevant and actionable for decision-makers.
