The fourth General Assembly marks a new stage in JACARDI‘s shared journey: from building a common vision to hearing how that vision is taking shape in people’s lives, communities and health systems.
Since its beginning, JACARDI has worked like an orchestra, bringing together work package leaders, pilot teams, institutions and partners across Europe. Each has contributed a distinct voice, area of expertise and perspective, while working in harmony towards the same goal: improving the prevention and management of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
This year, the spotlight will move closer to the heart of JACARDI: the people and organisations whose lives, professional practices, communities and care pathways are directly touched by the pilots. Patients, healthcare professionals, community representatives, cultural mediators, teachers, families, workers, young people and policymakers will share their experiences as active partners in JACARDI’s co-design process. Their knowledge, needs and perspectives help shape, adapt and refine the pilots, ensuring that solutions are grounded in real-life contexts, respond to people’s needs and contribute to meaningful, equitable and sustainable change.
Through first-hand accounts, stories from the field and dialogue with European public health and policy actors, the General Assembly will explore not only what JACARDI has implemented, but what is changing, for whom, and why it matters. Equity will remain our guiding principle, with particular attention to gender dimensions, intersectionality and the needs of populations too often left behind.
The final movement of this journey will look beyond the lifetime of the project: towards sustainability, scalability and the lasting integration of JACARDI’s approaches into European policies and health systems. Together, these many voices will form one shared public health message: meaningful change begins when evidence, experience and action come together as part of the same orchestra.
