Specific Objectives
- Facilitating sustainability post-JACARDI: Ensuring that pilot implementations remain impactful after the Joint Action concludes.
- Enhancing EU added value: Leveraging the collective expertise within the JACARDI consortium to understand and implement sustainability strategies across diverse contexts.
- Building capacity for Science-to-Policy translation: Strengthening partners’ skills in translating scientific findings into actionable policies and effective communication strategies.
- Fostering synergies with related initiatives: Establishing strong connections with the Joint Action on Cancer and other Non-Communicable Disease prevention initiatives (JA-PreventNCD) to promote high-level policy sustainability.
Approach and Key Activities:
The post-JACARDI exploitation of the project’s results and outcomes will be supported at the following levels:
- Sustainability Action Plans: Each pilot will devise a tailored Sustainability Action Plan to guide ongoing activities and ensure their relevance and functionality after JACARDI’s conclusion.
- Development of thematic Roadmaps: Six roadmaps aligned with the six technical WPs will summarize pilot outcomes, highlight critical factors for future program development, and offer guidance for further implementation and scaling.
- Collaboration with JA-PreventNCD: High-level policy sustainability will be reinforced through:
– The establishment of a Sustainability Coordination Body to identify and leverage synergies between the Joint Actions.
– Active participation in the Policy Decision Makers’ Forum from JA-PreventNCD.
Creation of a comprehensive Joint Action Sustainability Plan. - Capacity building for Science-to-Policy translation:
To ensure efficient translation of pilot results into actionable policies, JACARDI consortium representatives will receive specialized training on Science-to-Policy interaction. In cascade, these trainers will deliver capacity-building courses to approximately about 300 representatives from pilot teams across all participating countries. The courses aim to enhance competencies in designing and implementing Sustainability Action Plans, effectively advocating for sustainable policy changes at local, regional, and national levels.
This WP represents a cornerstone for JACARDI’s mission, embedding sustainability at every level and creating a legacy of impactful, scalable, and policy-relevant health interventions.
